Iuri Fernandes is the SENSHI 33 Grand Prix Champion After Three Knockouts

Iuri Fernandes (Portugal) is the champion of the SENSHI 33 Grand Prix in the up-to-95 kg category. The Portuguese fighter put on an impressive performance throughout the tournament, winning all three of his bouts before the final bell. In the final, he knocked out Ramon Quirini (Italy) in the very first round.

The decisive clash came to an end after a powerful calf kick from Fernandes. Quirini was sent to the canvas and was unable to recover, bringing the fight to an end and securing the prestigious trophy for the Portuguese fighter.

Fernandes was dominant throughout the entire evening. In the quarterfinals, he eliminated Alexander Burduja (Moldova) via first-round technical knockout. In the semifinals, the Portuguese fighter dropped Iuri Farkas (Romania) twice in the opening round, once again securing a stoppage victory.

The final followed the same script – another first-round finish and another stoppage victory. Fernandes therefore completed the SENSHI 33 Grand Prix with three knockouts in three fights, all in the space of a single evening.

Following his triumph, the new champion struggled to find the words to describe his emotions.

“I feel different. I feel like a better person,” an emotional Fernandes said after his victory.

The Portuguese fighter dedicated the biggest achievement of the evening to his mother and grandmother, while also taking the opportunity to thank his coach for the support and hard work that helped him reach the trophy.

Iuri Fernandes left the SENSHI 33 ring not simply as a winner, but as a champion who made his way through the entire Grand Prix without a single one of his three fights going to the judges’ scorecards.
