“It Was Very Enjoyable to Fight Three Times in One Night!”: Sharif Ben Mabrouk’s 10-Round War at SENSHI 33

The warrior endures three grueling battles in one night to claim third place at the Light Heavyweight Grand Prix.

Moving up to the 95-kilogram division, Sharif Ben Mabrouk faced a brutal reality check. “When I compete in the 85-kilogram division, I face conditionally better prepared fighters but here, in the 95-kilogram division, they are significantly bigger and punch way harder!” he admitted last Saturday in front of the ChampsTalk camera in a post-fight interview. Yet, the warrior embraced the ultimate test at SENSHI 33, surviving 10 rounds of warfare to finish third. “I truly love fighting, especially a tournament... it was very enjoyable to fight three times in one night!”

Ben Mabrouk opened by breaking Emin Ozer in an extra-round thriller. “Before the extra round... I could see that he was very exhausted, he did not want to be there anymore,” he noted. “But I knew that I had to fight more aggressively in the last one, one and a half minutes of that round because I know that that is when you persuade the judges you actually won!”

His momentum was tested against Ramon Quirini. “Against Ramon Quirini, I believe I started well up until getting rocked in the end of the first round but apart from that, I believe I won the second and the third rounds,” Ben Mabrouk stated. However, the decision went against him. “It is a sport where the judges take the final decision so if I had knocked my opponent down or out, they wouldn’t have had any other choice. I did not so it is what it is.”

Leaving with a 2-1 record, he remains fueled by the experience. “Today I learned how important it is to have a fighter mentality and really strong conditional preparation... all in all, I am happy with tonight!”
