"Kodokan" occupies the Top 3 in the heavyweight division in judo

The "Kodokan" team (Pazardzhik) occupied the top three in the heavyweight category (over 100 kg) at the state youth judo championship in Pazardzhik.

Nikola Markov became the champion, his teammates Viktor Pepelov and Dimitar Kurtakov were his runners-up. Krasimir Velinov (CSKA) took the second bronze in the category. "Kodokan" won another title - from Tsvetomir Valkov (100 kg).

143 competitors started on Sunday. The champions in the other categories were Samuil Ananiev (81, "Topalov", Sofia) and Anton Dimitrov (90, "Haskovo"), respectively, and in the girls' category, Emily Apostolova (70, CSKA Sofia), Angelina Ivanova (78 CSKA Sofia) and Maria Cherkelieva (over 78 kg, "Hadzhi Dimitar", Sliven).

A total of 380 competitors took part in the championship. The next championship will be on April 16 and 17 in Dimitrovgrad for boys and girls.

Then there will also be an exam for young judges. The exam will be theoretical and practical. There is no age limit, candidates should know the rules of the International Judo Federation.
