Irina Zhelezarska and Boris Georgiev were eliminated in Tbilisi

Bulgarian athletes recorded one victory each on the last day of the European Judo Championships for men and women in Tbilisi (Georgia).

In the 100 kg category, Boris Georgiev defeated Pankrat Surba (Belarus) by "yuko", then lost to Zombor Veg (Hungary) by "vadzari".

In the heaviest category for women over 78 kg, Irina Zhelezarska defeated Kinga Wolszczak of Poland by "vadzari" in her first bout, then lost to the Olympic vice-champion from Paris 2024 Raz Hershko (Israel) by "ippon".

Bulgaria participated with 13 athletes at the championship, and yesterday Ivaylo Ivanov took seventh place in the 90 kg category.
