59-year-old International Boxing Hall of Fame and former heavyweight champion Mike Tyson has confirmed that a boxing match against 48-year-old former five-division world champion Floyd Mayweather Jr. is indeed happening.
“Is the Floyd fight happening? Hell, it’s happening! Do you think I’m going to turn it down? I’ve been busy. Floyd challenged me” Tyson said in an interview with TMZ.
According to Tyson, the fight is set for March of this year, but the date and location are still unknown.
As for Tyson’s current fitness — who turns 60 in June — he says he’s not only lost weight but also feels incredible physically.
In addition to his fight with Mayweather, Mike is preparing something big for the next generation of boxers: the Mike Tyson Invitational, a three-day amateur boxing show that will showcase up-and-coming fighters.
