Matchroom Boxing chairman Eddie Hearn has sharply responded to UFC president Dana White amid escalating tensions between the promoters following the launch of the Zuffa Boxing project.
Earlier, White claimed that Hearn works for his father and lacks his own vision for the development of boxing, unlike White’s team.
“I was surprised by the tone of his comments — essentially, he said that Eddie Hearn works for his father. Honestly, people usually say things like that when they’re irritated and rattled. I didn’t expect him to be nervous this early. When he says I work for my father — yes, you could say that. But for many years his ‘fathers’ were the Fertitta brothers, and now he has a new ‘boss’ — Turki Alalshikh. Dana White works for Turki Alalshikh. He’s an employee of the company,” Hearn was quoted as saying by Mirror.
The British promoter also rejected accusations that he lacks vision, criticizing White’s recent shows and describing them as mediocre.
