Ryan García and WBC welterweight champion Mario Barrios successfully passed the official weigh-in ahead of their highly anticipated clash in Las Vegas.
García stepped on the scales at 146.5 pounds (66.45 kg), while Barrios hit the division limit of 147 pounds (66.68 kg). With both fighters making weight, the world title fight received the green light and will proceed as planned.
For the former interim lightweight champion, this is his first major test in his new weight class. During fight week, it was evident that making weight had been a significant physical challenge. Nevertheless, he managed to meet the requirements on his first attempt.
The clash will headline the “The Ring: High Stakes” card at T-Mobile Arena and is for the WBC welterweight title.
