Mayweather vs. Pacquiao 2 officially set for September 19 at The Sphere

The rematch between Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Manny Pacquiao is now official and will take place on September 19 at The Sphere in Las Vegas, with the fight set to be streamed live on Netflix.

This will be the first boxing match held in the state-of-the-art venue following UFC 306, and it reunites two of the greatest fighters in boxing more than a decade after their first encounter. Back in 2015, Mayweather won by unanimous decision in a bout that became the best-selling pay-per-view in history, generating over 4.6 million buys.

The 48-year-old American has not fought professionally since his victory over Conor McGregor in 2017, though he has remained active in exhibition bouts and recently announced plans for one more official fight. Pacquiao also returned to the ring and fought to a draw with Mario Barrios in a world title contest — a result many observers felt the Filipino had done enough to win. Before facing Mayweather again, he is scheduled for an exhibition against Ruslan Provodnikov on April 18 in Las Vegas.
