Undefeated 39-year-old Ukrainian Oleksandr Usyk, the current heavyweight champion of the WBA, WBC, IBF, and IBO, has ruled out the possibility of a fight with unbeaten 21-year-old Moses Itauma, the WBO Intercontinental and WBA International heavyweight champion.
“No, I don’t want to fight Itauma because he’s young. I don’t want to ruin his career,” Usyk was quoted as saying by The Ring.
In his most recent fight, held on July 20 at Wembley Stadium in London, Oleksandr Usyk shared the ring with British boxer Daniel Dubois. Usyk won by knockout in the fifth round. The bout was a rematch between the two fighters, with the undisputed world heavyweight title on the line.
Usyk holds a professional record of 24 wins, 15 of them by stoppage, and no losses. He made his professional debut in November 2013.
