According to ESPN, 35-year-old American boxer Jermall Charlo will return to action on May 2 in Las Vegas.
The former World Boxing Council (WBC) middleweight champion will face Armando Resendiz in a bout for the vacant World Boxing Association (WBA) super middleweight title. The belt was previously held by Terence Crawford, who vacated it after stepping away.
Charlo enters the fight with a perfect professional record of 34 wins (23 by knockout) and no losses, while Resendiz holds a record of 16 wins (11 by knockout) and 2 defeats.
The bout is expected to play a key role in shaping the hierarchy of the super middleweight division.
