Undefeated 39-year-old Ukrainian Oleksandr Usyk, the current WBA, WBC, IBF, and IBO heavyweight champion, has reiterated his plans for a farewell bout against another massive star—Tyson Fury.
“In my opinion, Tyson Fury is the last dance,” Usyk said briefly on the topic.
The two have already fought twice, with Usyk winning both bouts in hard-fought contests. After those fights, the “Gypsy King” expressed his dissatisfaction, believing he deserved the victories. It is assumed that precisely because of how evenly matched they are, the two are willing to face each other once again. This is also the reason Fury has decided to come out of retirement once more.
For now, both fighters have other bouts ahead of them. On the 23rd, Usyk will face kickboxing legend Rico Verhoeven. The fight will be under boxing rules and will be for the WBC belt.
On April 11, Fury will take on Arslanbek Makhmudov in London.
