Is Anthony Joshua coming back?

In 2021, former heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua lost his titles to Oleksandr Usyk. He came close to winning them back in the rematch, but lost by a contested decision. He then failed in another title bid, getting knocked out by IBF champion Daniel Dubois in 2024.

Joshua spent 15 months away from boxing. He recovered from that knockout loss and from a car accident on New Year’s Eve, in which close friends of his were killed.

There were rumors about his future and whether he would ever fight again, but Anthony plans to continue his career. His return to the ring is expected this summer. One boxer is persistently being named as his likely opponent: Dillian Whyte, whom Joshua has already beaten before. Fans are not exactly thrilled by that possibility, especially after Whyte was destroyed in the first round by Moses Itauma in August.

The idea, however, is for Joshua to make a smooth return to the ring and then finally set up the huge showdown with Tyson Fury.
