Former heavyweight world champion and one of the most beloved boxers in the world – Tyson Fury – is set to return to the ring once again.
After two dramatic and extremely close defeats to Oleksandr Usyk – the first losses of his professional career – the Gypsy King announced that he was retiring from boxing. But as we have seen many times before, Fury finds it hard to stay away from the spotlight.
The Brit has changed his mind once again and announced his return to the ring for the fifth time.
Before that, he had already “retired” in 2013, 2016, 2017 and 2022.
Now, at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London, Fury will face dangerous Russian puncher Arslanbek Makhmudov.
On paper, the British star looks like the clear favorite. But does Makhmudov have what it takes to pull off one of the biggest upsets in the heavyweight division?
Nikolay Yorgov shared his opinion on Fury’s long-awaited comeback in Boec.com’s “The Expert Speaks” column.
“Makhmudov is a heavyweight with strength and power, but he is not as experienced as Fury. He lacks the technique, feints and boxing education that Fury has. Tyson is a fighter with tremendous endurance, instinct and the ability to control the fight from the first second to the last.
In my opinion, Fury will win convincingly and could even force a stoppage. I would not be surprised if he finishes Makhmudov in the middle rounds.
Makhmudov is strong and dangerous, but he does not have the fine details needed to beat Fury. Tyson knows all the tricks, feints and mind games, and he has an iron mentality. I’m backing Fury to win,” Yorgov said.
Interestingly, he had already correctly predicted the outcome of the fight between Deontay Wilder and Derek Chisora.
