Former British heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua (29-4, 26 KOs) was absolutely right to refrain from giving a positive response to the challenge from his compatriot Tyson Fury (35-2-1, 24 KOs) after Fury’s victory over Arslanbek Makhmudov.
This is the opinion of Joshua’s legendary compatriot, former undisputed heavyweight champion Lennox Lewis.
According to Lewis, Joshua has still not recovered from the tragic loss of his friends and is being pressured to make a decision.
“I think it’s too early for Anthony,” said Lewis. “He has just gone through a traumatic event, so he doesn’t want to make any decisions. I think he is being pressured to make a decision when he is not ready.”
