Coach of the year analyzes the mega fight between Fury and Joshua

The super investor in boxing, Turki Alalshikh, intends to organize all the biggest possible fights—even those that may have lost some of their relevance. At the top of the list is the heavyweight clash between Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua.

The fight is tentatively scheduled for November.

The 2024 Coach of the Year, Robert Garcia, shared his expectations. During his career, he worked with Joshua, preparing him for his rematch with Oleksandr Usyk. Even though AJ lost that bout, he demonstrated an impressive level of boxing.

In an interview with ESPN, Garcia said: “If Joshua is mentally prepared for the fight... I think he should win purely thanks to his technique and firepower. He has everything needed not only to win but to knock Fury out. But for that to happen, he must be ready not only physically, but mentally as well…”

Garcia has no doubts about AJ’s physical condition: “I know he has never had problems in that regard. He is always in shape. When I worked with him, he never let himself go. He works hard. But you have to understand that Fury is different. He’s like a street fighter. He doesn’t care. He can step into the ring overweight… He can come in looking like a fat man and still fight brilliantly.”

Garcia believes that if Joshua lands clean, “he will knock Fury out.”
