Daniel Dubois will enter his fight against Fabio Wardley in the heaviest version of himself to date.
At the official weigh-in ceremony in Manchester, the former IBF heavyweight champion came in at 114.2 kg (255 lbs), marking the highest weight of his professional career.
This represents a significant increase compared to his recent major fights. Dubois was 3.7 kg lighter in last year’s bout against Oleksandr Usyk and is also 1.5 kg heavier than he was for his fight against Anthony Joshua in September 2024.
On the other side, Fabio Wardley weighed in at 109.9 kg, well within his usual competitive range. The Brit has maintained consistent numbers in recent years, regularly entering fights between 109.3 kg and 110.2 kg.
Dubois’ added mass could be a deliberate strategy aimed at maximizing power and physical presence against Wardley, who is known for his aggressive style and punching strength in exchanges.
The bout between 28-year-old Dubois and 31-year-old Wardley will headline a boxing event promoted by Queensberry Promotions on May 9 in Manchester, England.
