Zlati Chukanova and Viktorio Iliev are in the quarterfinals in Serbia

Zlatislava Chukanova and Viktorio Iliev qualified for the quarterfinals of the strong international boxing tournament "Belgrade Victor".

Our nationals achieved convincing victories on the first day of the competition in Serbia and took a step towards the medals in the championship. In the women's 51 kg category, Zlati Chukanova left no chance for Ukrainian Taisiya Pokusay.

The winner of the Strandzha Cup in the last two years defeated her rival by unanimous decision. On Friday, she will box with the representative of the hosts Nikolina Dzhida for a place in the semifinals and at least a bronze medal.

Victorio Iliev also achieved success. In the 65-kilogram category, he convincingly defeated the Armenian Argishti Hakobyan. His victory was also decisive. Our national team must deal with Yagit Uş (Turkey) tomorrow, in order to reach the semifinals in turn.

Ergunal Sebahtin suffered a defeat. The captain of our national men's team lost by a unanimous decision to Turkey's leading boxer Samet Salih in the 50-kilogram category.

On Friday, there will be two more matches with Bulgarian participation. Stelian Strahilov (75 kg) will meet the Ukrainian Vladislav Chinyuk, and Semyon Boldyrev (90 kg) will box with Brian Colwell (Canada) or Bogdan Tolmachov (Ukraine).
