Bivol open to Beterbiev trilogy

Bivol open to Beterbiev trilogy

Former undisputed light heavyweight champion Dmitry Bivol has given the green light to a trilogy fight with his longtime rival Artur Beterbiev after securing a convincing victory over Germany's Michael Eifert.

The Russian star welcomed the idea of a decisive third showdown taking place in Yekaterinburg.

“Is Igor Altushkin ready to organize a third fight with Beterbiev in Yekaterinburg? That's a great idea. Of course, we can talk about it,” Bivol said.

The rivalry between Bivol and Beterbiev has already become one of boxing’s most memorable feuds in recent years. Their first encounter took place in October 2024 in Riyadh, where Beterbiev handed Bivol the first defeat of his professional career after a closely contested battle. The victory allowed Beterbiev to unify all major world titles at light heavyweight and become the undisputed champion.

Four months later, the rematch delivered another thrilling chapter. On February 23, 2025, in Riyadh, the two Russians went the full 12 rounds once again in a high-level boxing showdown. This time, Bivol found the answers to Beterbiev’s relentless pressure and emerged victorious by majority decision, with scorecards of 114-114, 116-112, and 115-113, reclaiming the undisputed championship.

With both fighters now holding one victory apiece, the boxing world is eagerly awaiting a third and potentially decisive chapter in the epic rivalry between Bivol and Beterbiev.
