Share on FacebookMulti-weight boxing world champion Adrien "The Problem" Broner and top-ranked UFC lightweight contender Arman Tsarukyan recently crossed paths during a live stream. The broadcast offered fans a mixture of elite athletic backgrounds, tactical play-fighting, and bold combat sports assertions.
During the stream, Tsarukyan broke down how his grappling would neutralize Broner's striking. He explained that if Broner were to step forward with a jab, Tsarukyan would instantly level-change, grab a single leg, and execute a takedown. To illustrate, the UFC fighter playfully demonstrated the move. In response, Broner lightly and jokingly simulated throwing punches toward the back of Tsarukyan's head without making any physical contact.
The humor continued as Tsarukyan jokingly offered to help Broner improve his boxing technique. Broner quickly laughed it off, responding along the lines of, "I will beat you up." The atmosphere remained friendly as the pair also laughed about trying to guess Broner's exact age.
Later on, the conversation took a serious turn regarding the UFC lightweight title picture. Arman Tsarukyan is not currently scheduled to fight the reigning champion Ilia Topuria. Instead, the born in Georgia and raised in both Georgia and Spain Topuria is set to engage in a championship bout against Justin Gaethje, with the winner of that fight designated to defend the belt against Tsarukyan. Because Arman fully expects Topuria to win and retain his title, he speaks under the assumption that Ilia will be his eventual opponent. Out of respect for Topuria's high-level striking, Tsarukyan noted he must heavily sharpen his own boxing in preparation for that inevitable clash.
Interestingly, despite mapping out a future fight against Ilia Topuria, Tsarukyan's financial confidence lies elsewhere. Later in the stream, he revealed that he placed a massive $1 million bet on the underdog, Justin Gaethje, to beat Topuria. While Tsarukyan conceptually prepares for the Georgian as the logical next champion, he is literally putting his money on Gaethje to pull off the upset.
Additionally, both athletes shared overarching sports philosophies. Tsarukyan stated that becoming a world champion in boxing requires training from a very young age, whereas athletes can enter MMA as late as 20 years old and still reach the top. Apart from that, Broner firmly declared his opinion that Floyd Mayweather stands as the greatest boxer of all time, in fact, multiple times, after Arman asked him on his opinion on the matter.
