Oleksandr Usyk has officially announced that his next fight will be his very last. The 39-year-old Ukrainian champion spoke clearly to BBC Sport, confirming that he is ready to retire from professional boxing after one final appearance in the ring.

To make sure there is no misunderstanding, the undefeated heavyweight star made it clear that he will not make a comeback. "Last is only one," Usyk stated during his interview. He wants a clean exit from the sport, rather than teasing fans with multiple farewell matches.

This big decision comes shortly after Usyk decided to give up his world championship titles. By vacating his belts, he is allowing younger heavyweight boxers to fight for the open championship spots.

Usyk currently holds a perfect record of 25 wins and 0 losses. He has already won Olympic gold and achieved the rare status of becoming the undisputed champion in two different weight classes. After his final match is over, Usyk plans to step away to build his own sports academy and train the next generation of boxing talent.
