Darren Till has opened up about his preparation, his upcoming opponent, and his future plans during an interview with MMA Junkie. With six weeks left before he faces Yoel Romero, Till shared that he is currently enjoying the training process. While he admits he is tired, he noted that preparing for a boxing or bare-knuckle match is significantly less taxing on the body than a full mixed martial arts camp. However, he expects the usual late-camp irritability to kick in as the fight draws closer.
Speaking about Romero, Till acknowledged that the near-50-year-old veteran remains an incredibly fit and formidable challenge. Reflecting on their intense, recent face-off, Till laughed and explained he had no intention of a long standoff, but wanted to show Romero that he is a grown, formidable man.
Looking beyond Romero, Till addressed a potential matchup with long-time rival Mike Perry. He emphasized that a fight with Perry has been eight years in the making and simply must happen. Till believes the massive crossover bout belongs on the big stage, specifically inside a packed sports stadium in England.
