Matchroom Boxing promoter Eddie Hearn has firmly declared that the highly anticipated heavyweight showdown between Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury must take place on British soil. Speaking to talkSPORT Boxing, Hearn dismissed recent claims by Fury that the Joshua camp is causing the fight to collapse. Hearn stated that Joshua’s team is not running from anything and simply wants a clear date set in the United Kingdom.

Addressing recent promotional rumors, Hearn made it clear that UFC Chief Executive Officer Dana White will have absolutely no role in promoting this event. Instead, the fight is backed entirely by Saudi Arabia’s Turki Alalshikh. Hearn emphasized that Alalshikh has successfully delivered on every promise made so far, with this historic UK venue choice being the final piece of the puzzle.

According to Hearn, the binding contract has already been signed by all parties. He noted that Joshua himself requested a specific clause requiring the fight to be held in the UK, which was officially included in the paperwork. Hearn stressed that Joshua cannot pull out without facing major legal action, and neither team will breach the agreement. Having completed a prior warm-up bout, Joshua has no interest in any interim fights. The team remains entirely focused on locking in the Fury match exactly where it was promised.
