In a recent interview on IFL TV, experienced heavyweight boxer Filip Hrgovic shared some honest thoughts about his next opponent, Moses Itauma. Ahead of their big fight for the IBF world title at London’s O2 Arena, Hrgovic said the unbeaten young fighter is still just a "kid." He believes Itauma is mentally unready for the heavy pressure of being a world champion.

Hrgovic is 13 years older than Itauma. He explained that when he looks into the young boxer's eyes, he does not see a mature champion. According to Hrgovic, the media and fans have hyped Itauma up too fast by comparing him to legends like Mike Tyson. The Croatian veteran fears that getting too much money and fame at only 21 years old will cause the young man to lose focus on reality.

Hrgovic shockingly stated that losing this fight would actually be the best thing for Itauma right now. He argued that a painful loss would protect the young fighter from the toxic pressures of sudden fame and ultimately "save his soul." Itauma later responded to these comments. He admitted the words were annoying, but he agreed that handling sudden worldwide fame is a very real mental challenge.
