Turki Alalshikh, the powerful man who runs Saudi Arabia's big sports events, shocked the boxing world by talking about his bad health at a London press conference. He was on stage to announce the massive upcoming heavyweight fight between Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua. Before talking about the match, Alalshikh took the microphone to share a very sad and personal message about his struggles.
The 45-year-old sports boss admitted that he has been dealing with severe health issues that make it hard for him to work. "I don’t know if, in a couple of years, I will remember this moment or not," Alalshikh told the quiet room. "I have a doubt about it now. My health in the last four months has not been good." This is not his first health battle, as he has traveled to New York in the past to treat a serious tumor near his brain.
Even though he is feeling very sick, Alalshikh said his main goal right now is to give boxing fans the best matches possible before it is too late. He openly asked famous promoters like Eddie Hearn, Frank Warren, and Nick Khan to stop arguing and help him finish his ultimate boxing bucket list. He made a heartfelt plea to them, saying, "I want to deliver it before I can't deliver it. Please help me to deliver it... Help me to do it for the fans."
