Bulgarian boxer dies after a pro fight in Albania

A young Bulgarian boxer passed away after a professional fight in Shkoder, Albania.

The tragic news was confirmed by the Bulgarian professional boxing union. Isus Velichkov passed out in the 4^th round of the fight with the medical team onsite unable to bring him back to conscious. The boxer was immediately taken to a local hospital by an ambulance where short after being hospitalized he passed away because of his injuries.

The Bulgarian professional boxing union is expecting to receive video footage of the event, the boxer’s contract with the local promoter as well as the pathologist’s report, said the secretary-general Evgeniya Petrova.
