Naoya Inoue and John Riel Casimero were supposed to meet in a three-belt bantamweight unification on April 25, but plans are on hold with Inoue still in Japan, which may or may not be something that can change any time soon.

If it can, Bob Arum tells ESPN that he’s hoping to reschedule the fight for September. Both sides have expressed a serious desire to keep this fight and not take tune-up bouts if possible. Casimero, who is from the Philippines, has been in the United States and still is.

Arum also says he’d like to do it with fans, of course; not a full house, but 2,500-3,000 fans in one of the MGM rooms.

Inoue (19-0, 16 KO) holds the WBA and IBF titles, unifying those belts last November in the Fight of the Year against Nonito Donaire, which you can watch in full here. Casimero (29-4, 20 KO) won the WBO title just a few weeks later, storming Zolani Tete and taking the belt via third round TKO in Birmingham, England. The win made Casimero a three-division titleholder, having previously won belts at 108 and 112.
