Bulgaria claims four wrestling Olympic berths in Budapest

Bulgaria’s national wrestling teams captured a total of 4 Olympic berths at the European Olympic Qualifiers that took place this past weekend in Budapest, Hungary.

Freestyle’s Georgi Vangelov (57 kg) made it to the final and secured the alone berth in the freestyle.

Women’s Miglena Selishka (50 kg) and Evelina Nikolova (57) won gold at the tournament and will also be traveling to Tokyo this summer. That was the second and the third quotas among the women after Taybe Yusein’s golden medal at the 2019 European Championships.

Greco-Roman’s Kiril Milov added the 4th berth after he claimed silver in the 97 kg category.

The final Wrestling Qualifiers will be staged in Sofia, Bulgaria. The World event will take place from May 6-9 with and only the finalists will get their visas stamped.
