It seems Nate Diaz victory over Anthony Pettis last weekend has impressed an old foe of the Stockton native.
Former two-weight UFC champion Conor McGregor congratulated Nate for his astonishing return at UFC 241, with the Irish stating that Nate motivated him for “his own comeback”.
Yesterday we marked the three-year anniversary from one of the biggest fights in UFC history – Nate Diaz vs. Conor McGregor 2. The pair met for a second time on August 20, 2016, a few months after Nate submitted “The Notorious” at UFC 196.

3 years to the day myself and this Mexican warrior went to war. Congrats on the win this weekend Nate, it was motivating to see it for my own comeback. I don’t blame you not mentioning me for the trilogy bout post fight, you know what I’m like when I get going. Vicious. I loved the round 3 style from round 1 that you implemented. It’s what I was hoping you would implement for this bout and was glad to see you do it. I’ll be prepared for it when we go again. If we go again. If not, respect always. A war for the ages. No bitch talk. Just real shit.
McGregor hasn’t fought since last October when UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov defeated him. Conor’s name though is still in the everyday news, but most of the times – for the wrong reasons.
UFC President Dana White stated several times this year that the Irish will make his comeback by the end of 2019, but at this point, there is nothing official from neither sides.
