Craig Jones says he’ll be an Assistant Coach on TUF 29

2019 ADCC silver medalist Craig Jones is set to get to work as an assistant coach on this season of The Ultimate Fighter.

In an interview with FloGrappling, Jones revealed that his preparation for his Who’s Number One match against Tye Ruotolo would involve a bit of a detour as he was scheduled to be a part of TUF 29. Still, he insists that he’ll be coming into the match ready to face the young phenom.

TUF will be returning for the first time since 2018, this time featuring fellow Australian Alexander Volkanovski and Brian Ortega as the coaches. Ortega was set to challenge Volkanovski for the featherweight title at UFC 260, but the fight was canceled after Volkanovski contracted COVID-19. Now, the 29th season of TUF will provide another opportunity for the two to face off at the end of their time coaching middleweight and bantamweight contestants.

Further details on Jones’ involvement in the show are currently sparse, and we don’t yet know which team Jones will be on. Either way, we’ll be looking forward to seeing Jones’ jiu-jitsu in action during the upcoming season.
