Georges St-Pierre out-grapples Karo Parisyan to win UFC debut (VIDEO)

Watch Georges St-Pierre vs. Karo Parisyan full fight video to see St-Pierre pick up his first octagon win by beating Parisyan at his own game at UFC 46 on Jan. 31, 2004, in Las Vegas.

“GSP” and Parisyan would both go on to have successful UFC careers, but on this day it was the debuting St-Pierre who got the better of the judo specialist and showed flashes of the future legend he would become. For three rounds, St-Pierre controlled Parisyan on the ground and avoided his submission attempts to earn a unanimous decision win.

It was the first of many UFC victories for St-Pierre, who finished with a 20-2 UFC record and successfully defended the welterweight title nine consecutive times. In his final fight in November 2017, he defeated Michael Bisping to win the UFC middleweight championship.
