Gilbert Burns defeats Woodley at UFC on ESPN 9 (VIDEO)

Brazil’s Gilbert Burns defeated the former UFC welterweight champion, Tyron Woodley, at UFC on ESPN 9 main event last night.

The 33-year-old South American extended his winning streak to six in a row, claiming the W via UD after he dominated the full 5 rounds.

Burns was the better fighter when the fight was either on the ground or on the feet and the judge’s scorecards gave him the sweep with 50-44, 50-44, and 50-45.

The American’s defense was not on point as he got hit with almost everything that was thrown at him. Woodley got cut in the opening round. Burns was following him everywhere in the Octagon and was the one dictating the pace of the fight no matter what.

After the fight, Burns said that he wants a title shot for the welterweight crown.
