Great start for Boyan Asenov at the ‘Strandja’

The afternoon session of the third day of the international ‘Strandja Memorial Tournament’ kicked off in the best possible way for Bulgaria.

Boyan Asenov (56 kg) won his opening match against Kairat Yeraliyev (KAZ) via SD. The fight was everything but easy for the Bulgarian, but in the end, he was the one with his hand raised in the air. Asenov showcased his brilliant boxing skills throughout the whole bout – jabs, left and right counter hooks and great movement.

Tomorrow the 19-year-old Bulgarian will face Bakhatovar Nazirov (RUS) in the 1/4-finals.

In the morning session, Boyan’s older brother – Daniel ‘Tyson’ Asenov (52 kg) also managed to win his matchup and qualified for the quarter-finals.

Daniel outclassed Yassine Bendadda (MAR) and won via UD.
