In 2007, Russia’s Alexander Ustinov squared up against Montenegro’s Mirko Vlahovic at the gala evening ICHIGEKI – Professional Karate Kyokushin League, that took place in Sofia, Bulgaria. The fight was conducted under the K-1 rules in the super heavyweight category.
Ustinov had a pretty successful career not only in kickboxing but in pro boxing as well. His record is 34 wins and 3 loses. His first loss came up against Bulgaria’s Kubrat Pulev back in 2012. In 2017 Ustinov faced Manuel Charr for the WBA world heavyweight belt, but the younger Charr managed to get the W via UD. He wrapped his kickboxing career with 53 wins and 9 defeats.
Mirko Vlahovic, meanwhile, reached the WAKU World championship (K-1 style)’s semi-finals. He was eliminated by Aleksey Kudin, who later won the tournament.
