The 1996 K-1 World Grand Prix tournament was the 4th annual event that included 8 of the best heavyweight kickboxers.

Once again, the world kickboxing elite was gathered under one roof to produce another portion of historic and non-stop action fights.

Peter Aerts, Mike Bernardo, Sam Greco, Musashi, Mirko Filipovic, Ernesto Hoost, Andy Hug, and Duane Van Der Merwe all managed to qualify for the quarter-finals.

The 1996 tournament will always be remembered with Andy Hug claiming his first and last K-1 world title. The Swiss delivers a stunning performance in the final against another all time great Mike Bernardo.
