The 12th annual K-1 World Grand Prix is without a doubt one of the best events that K-1 managed to put together.

The 2004 tournament gathered once again 8 of the finest heavyweights in the world under one roof – the “Tokyo Dome” in Japan’s capital city. Kaoklai Kaennorsing, Mighty Mo, Remy Bonjasky, Musashi, Francois Botha, Ray Sefo, Peter Aerts and Ernesto Hoost ere the 8 guys who were competing for the crown.

Nearly 65 000 fans witnessed history – Kaoklai Kaennorsing became the youngest (21) and the lightest (78 kg) fighter to ever participate in a K-1 World Grand Prix final.

South Africa’s Francois Botha and the defending champion Remy Bonjasky made it to the semifinals, but only one was destined to go to the last bout of the evening.
