International Shotokan Karate Championship takes place in Sofia

The third annual International Shotokan Karate Championship “Sofia Grand Prix” kicked off earlier today in Bulgaria’s capital city – Sofia.

Sports clubs “Overfight” and “Spartac 14” are the ones organizing the event for a third straight year. The fights are taking place at “Hristo Botev” hall, as there are more than 300 participants from all ages – from 7-year-olds to adults.  Karatekas from Bulgaria, Serbia, and Macedonia are taking part in today’s event.

The event is under the aegis of the Bulgarian Shotokan Karate-Do Federation and WSKF, as all the bouts are conducted under the rules of BSKF.
