Kancho Hatsuo Royama with an emotional letter

The Great Kancho Hatsuo Royama has shared his emotions regarding the ongoing pandemic in an inspirational letter written by himself.

Here is the whole letter:

Dear all the members of Kyokushin-kan, KWU, and people doing Kyokushin!!

I hope you all are keeping healthy and safe. We are facing a challenging time that we had never had before.

I am sure that all countries are trying to do their best to get through this situation and hope it will end soon. This is my first time to face such a difficult situation but I am doing my best to get through this with the Kyokushin spirits that I have been learning through Kyokushin Karate.

I am living my life with Karate-do for a long time but I have never given up even though I face difficult situations. It does not change and moving forward even now.

My hope for all Kyokushin family is your safe and healthy. The virus is our enemy that cannot see but protect yourself and fight with the enemy. Never lose to it!!

The most important thing is to continue your training even if we are in different situations. Something we have to do is to improve ourselves from inside of our bodies.

The spirits and body that you obtain through hard work will be your treasure. Please don’t stop training to obtain your treasure. I am always thinking about improving myself even though when I eat or take a shower.

It is in time like this, we will be able to learn something that we can’t learn from normal life. Finally, please stay safe and healthy and keep training.
I am looking forward to seeing you and train together soon.

Kyokushin-kan International
Kancho Hatsuo Royama
