Karate 1 Premier League returns with an anticipated event in Cairo

Karate’s first-class series of international events returns this weekend with the anticipated Karate 1 – Premier League Cairo. The capital city of Egypt hosts the third tournament of the season from September 3 to 5.

Following the outstanding success of Karate at the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020, fans of the sport have another opportunity to watch the best karatekas in action at the 2021 Karate 1-Premier League Cairo.

Nearly 300 athletes from 50 countries are registered to participate in the event. The Karate Stars fighting for gold in Cairo is headlined by Olympic champion and local idol Feryal Abdelaziz who will celebrate her Olympic gold medal at home in Cairo.

The list of Olympic heroes to participate in Cairo also has Olympic Games Silver medallist Tareq Hamedi (KSA) and Olympic Games Bronze medallists Bettina Plank (AUT) and Ariel Torres (USA) as big stars. Olympians Sakura Kokumai (USA), Anita Serogina (UKR), Elena Quirici (SUI) and Gogita Arkania (GEO) complete the headline of karatekas who will spearhead Karate?s Olympic memories in Cairo.

The tournament is scheduled to start on Friday, September 3 at 09:00 (local time) with Female Kata.
