Naoya Inoue signs with Top Rank

The “Muhammad Ali” trophy winner and unified world bantamweight champion – Naoya Inoue (19-0) has officially signed his long term contract with Bob Arum’s Top Rank.

The Japanese who defeated Nonito Donaire in the WBSS bantamweight final last week will make his Top Rank debut in 2020.

“The Monster” is considered to be one of the most skilfull fighters right now, ranked highly in the P4P rankings. Bob Arum was more than pleased with his new signing, as he had this to say:

“Naoya Inoue is a generational talent, the sort of fighter who comes around once a decade,” he said.
“He is already a superstar in Japan, and he will be major star stateside in no time. You are looking at an all-time great who is entering the prime of what will be a historic career.”
US media outlets have immediately suggested a potential super fight between unified lightweight champion Vasyl Lomachenko and the 26-year-old Inoue. However, such a fight is unlikely to happen because of the two-weight difference between the two superstars.
