Robert Whittaker vs. Darren Till targeted for UFC Dublin

It took a little longer than expected, but Robert Whittaker and Darren Till finally got their booking.

The former middleweight champ and the one-time welterweight title challenger have agreed to a headliner at UFC Dublin, which takes place Aug. 15 at 3Arena in Dublin, Ireland. ESPN.com first reported the matchup, and a person with knowledge of the targeted middleweight booking confirmed the news to MMA Fighting.

UFC Dublin is expected to stream on ESPN+. Currently, no other fights have been announced for the card.

Whittaker and Till previously agreed on social media to a fight at UFC London, which takes place March 21. But Till reportedly suffered an injury and was ruled out of competition.

Whittaker initially called for a fight with Till in London, leading to an exchange of messages on social media. After a brutal knockout loss to Jorge Masvidal one year ago, Till successfully transitioned to middleweight with a split decision over one-time title challenger Kelvin Gastelum at UFC 244 this past November.

Former champ Whittaker is on the mend after the loss of his title this past October at UFC 243 in a title unifier against Israel Adesanya.
