Ryan Hall vs. Dan Ige in the works for UFC event on March 13

Ryan Hall’s long wait to fight again appears ready to come to an end.

The grappling champion and submission specialist is expected to return to action against Dan Ige in a featherweight clash at the upcoming UFC event on March 13.

Multiple sources confirmed the fight to MMA Fighting on Thursday with both competitors already agreeing to the matchup. BJPenn.com first reported the contest.

After winning The Ultimate Fighter 22 to earn his place on the UFC roster, Hall dispatched his next three opponents in a row including a submission victory over Hall of Famer B.J. Penn.

Unfortunately for Hall, after earning a win over Darren Elkins in 2019, he’s been unable to compete again while sitting out all of 2020. Now it looks like Hall will finally make his return to action while facing off against a tough challenge at 145 pounds.

Ige has been an impressive addition to the featherweight division after joining the roster in 2017. He’s currently 6-2 inside the octagon, with wins over Edson Barboza and Mirsad Bektic.

Most recently, Ige dropped a decision to Calvin Kattar in a hard-fought five round battle this past July in his first UFC main event.

Ige will now attempt to hand Hall his first loss in the UFC as the featherweights meet in a growing card on March 13 that already includes a welterweight main event between Leon Edwards and Khamzat Chimaev, as well as a heavyweight clash as Jairzinho Rozenstruik takes on undefeated contender Ciryl Gane.
