Shakur Stevenson confident Haney beats Loma

Former world champion in two divisions Shakur Stevenson is pretty sure Vasyl Lomachenko has no chance of beating the current undisputed lightweight king Devin Haney.

Loma returned to action this past week, defeating Jamaine Ortiz via UD in New York, US. Haney, 23, who is fresh off his second win over George Kambosos, was watching closely the bout between Loma and Ortiz from the first row.

After the fight, the champion got on the ring and said he’s up for the challenge that Loma is. According to Stevenson, who is a close friend of Haney, Lomachenko has no chance against the champ.

While the New York crowd cheered and roared, Stevenson shook his head in disapproval. Although he’s admitted in years past that Lomachenko is an elite-level fighter and one-of-a-kind talent, at the age of 34, Stevenson believes that he’s lost a step or two, maybe even three.

“He’s not the same fighter he used to be,” said Stevenson on his social media account. “Too slow and old looking.”

“Dev smokes him”, Stevenson added.
