Tai Tuivasa vs. Augusto Sakai announced for Nov. 20 UFC event

Tai Tuivasa won’t be fighting Walt Harris next.

The UFC announced Tuesday that Tuivasa (11-3) will fight Augusto Sakai (15-3-1) at UFC APEX in Las Vegas on Nov. 20 following Harris’ withdrawal for undisclosed reasons. Tuivasa and Harris were originally scheduled to fight at UFC 267 on Oct. 30 in Abu Dhabi.

Combate was first to report Sakai stepping in for the fight following Tuivasa’s announcement last month that he had a new opponent and fight date.

Tuivasa has completely turned his fortunes around as of late. After starting his career 10-0 with wins in his first three UFC fights, “Bam Bam” lost his next three before rebounding with another three straight wins. In his most recent outing, he defeated Greg Hardy by first-round knockout in just 67 seconds. Tuivasa has finished his past three opponents in the first round.

Sakai, the No. 13-ranked heavyweight in MMA Fighting’s Global Rankings, is currently on a two-fight skid after losing by TKO to Jairzinho Rozenstruik and Alistair Overeem. His UFC record stands at 4-2.
