Team working and sumo on display in the morning kyokushin training

A lot of smiles and happy faces marked the first karate kyokushin session on the fifth day of the ongoing KWU International Summer Camp that is being held in Bulgaria.

The session kicked off at 7:00 A.M., as there were two separate groups – one at the beach of Kamchia and the other at the sports complex.

Shihan Ramil Gabbasov and Shihan Andrei Drewniak were leading the bigger group on the football pitch, while Bulgaria’s Sensei Zahari Damyanov and Czech Republic’s Jan Soukup were guiding the session on the beach.

The instructors, as usual, kicked off the session with a warm-up and stretching that fired up all the early birds. The bigger group was once again divided into several smaller ones with every one of them having separate instructors.

Teamwork and team games were the themes in the majority of the groups. Except for fun and smiles, the drills were filled with a lot of conditioning exercises that help develop their strength. The younger karatekas, who are making their first steps in ancient martial art, showcased the ability to fun and learn simultaneously.

Meanwhile, the beach session implemented another ancient Japanese art in the workout – sumo. The fighters accepted the challenge ready to showcase their brilliance on the dohyo, or in this case – on the sand.
