Ben Saunders receives BJJ black belt from Eddie Bravo

MMA veteran Ben Saunders has just received his black belt from non-other than the founder and head of “10th Planet” – Eddie Bravo.

Saunders, 36, started his MMA career back in 2004. He has fought 37 times and owns a record of 22 wins, 13 losses, and 2 draws. The welterweight is also a brown belt in traditional Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu under Ricardo Liborio and currently fights out of Gracie Barra Orlando.

The promotion comes after Ben’s 4th straight loss inside the Octagon. The American lost to Matt Brown at UFC 245 via KO in the second round. The last few years have been pretty rough for the former Bellator welterweight title challenger, losing 7 out of his previous 10 bouts.

The UFC 245 clash was Saunders’s last of his contract. He’s no longer part of the company’s roster, as some days ago he admitted he’s trying to sign with Rizin.
