There are three possible venues that could land the highly anticipated rematch between the unified world heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk and the former champ Anthony Joshua.
The Ukrainian defeated Joshua via UD back in September in London in front of 75 000 British fans. According to Usyk’s promoter Alexander Krassyuk there are three locations considered for the rematch – Ukraine, the Middle East and the UK.
“We plan to meet with Eddie Hearn within the next couple of weeks to initiate the rematch activities,” Krassyuk said to Sky Sports.
“We have three options under consideration: the UK, Ukraine, and the Middle East. Hopefully, by the end of 2021, we will be in the position to take the final decision.”
Joshua has already fought in Saudi Arabia. Teh Brit defeated Andy Ruiz in their rematch in 2019 to become a two-time heavyweight champ. Usyk is no stranger to fighting abroad, as the majority of his fights are taking place in the US, the UK or Europe.
