WBO middleweight champion Demetrius Andrade managed to keep the gold versus his challenger Luke Keeler. The bout was headliner of huge fight night on DAZN at the Meridian at Island Gardens in Miami, Florida.
Andrade hurt Keeler with a big left uppercut in the 9th round. He then continued to land big shots as Keeler gamely attempted to survive along the ropes. When it was clear that Keeler was almost defenseless, referee Telis Assimenios stepped in and halted the fight.
“I went in there and thought I could put him out. So I took him out. I showed him I am not delusional. I got more knockdowns than I do fights, baby. I am entertaining. You gotta love it, I come to put on a show every time.”
“I want to go to 168 pounds to fight Billy Joe Saunders in my next fight. Eddie, offer him that check so I can whoop his a** too. Eddie said he sent an offer to Jermall Charlo, but there was no response. If he sends and offer, I will respond. The boogeyman is here,” said Andrade.
