WBO world super-middleweight champion Billy Joe Saunders admitted to he made a ‘silly mistake’ as he was banned from boxing until further notice after making a video in which he instructed men on how to hit their female partners.
The British Boxing Board of Control announced on Monday afternoon that the two-weight world champion’s license has been suspended, pending a future hearing, following the emergence of the clip below.

Here’s what the BBBofC had to say:
“The British Boxing Board of Control having considered comments made by Billy Joe Saunders on social media have suspended his boxer’s license pending a hearing under the board’s misconduct regulation, at a time and venue to be confirmed as soon as possible.”
Obviously the 30-years-old British boxer made an inappropriate joke, as he was trying to be funny, but domestic violence is a no joke field.
Saunders could be missing on his big-money ticket if he gets himself suspended for a longer period of time which means he won’t be able to fight Saul Alvarez.
