The upcoming world heavyweight title clash between Anthony Joshua and Kubrat Pulev will be rescheduled for July 25, numerous reports from Britain are saying.
The reason for this, of course, is the ongoing coronavirus pandemic that continues to shut down major sporting and cultural events all around the world.
Initially, the fight was supposed to take place on June 20 in London at the new “Tottenham Stadium”. Unfortunately for both sides, the Premier League will probably be still going late June and that means the stadium won’t be available.
Even though there is still no official information, Matchroom Boxing’s Eddie Hearn stated that the chance of the fight being postponed for July is huge.
The Bulgarian himself took it to Instagram where he posted the following:
“…I still believe that my world title fight could go on on July 25, even though humanity is facing its toughest fight to this moment. Let’s prove that we, the people, are adaptable and flexible and that we’re stronger than the virus. Me personally, I’d be pleasantly surprised if the fight happens on July 25…”
