Bruce Buffer recalls his first meeting with Conor

UFC announcer Bruce Buffer reminiscenced his first ever meeting with Conor “The Notorious” McGregor and the way the irish star foresaw his future.

Today, Conor is without a doubt one of the biggest names in the world of sports, but Bruce remembers the times when there was no $50 mil fights and Proper 12.

“I first met him when he was around 18 or 19. I was doing a show in Dublin and this young kid came up to me with no beard.

He goes ‘my name is Conor McGregor, remember it! I am going to be champion some day and you are going to announce me.’

‘Okay great’, I never forgot that though. And then when I met him when he first came in the UFC I reminded him of that and he remembered it too.”

Then, the half-brother of Michael Buffer, gave credit to McGrecor for the help of launching Mixed Martial Arts into a new stratosphere.

“You have got to remember the intestinal fortitude that Conor has, that backstory and everything. Even with a couple of the negative things he has done recently, the bottom line is he has been a big boost to the sport.

He is worldwide.”
